Equinavia Donates 1,000 Pieces of Protective Eyewear to Fight COVID-19
In challenging times like these, we all need to do our part—great or small—to help one another and lighten the burden. At Equinavia, we’re grateful that we’ve been able to contribute by donating 1,000 PPE/protective eyewear (value of $20,000) to the Connecticut State Department of Public Health.
Fred Erik Nilsen, the owner and Managing Director of Equinavia (DBA Horze Equestrian and FINNTACK USA) was contacted on March 30, 2020 by the Connecticut Business, Industry, Economy, HR, Jobs & Legislature – CBIA that is partnering with the Connecticut Hospital Association – CHA and United Way of Connecticut 211 to secure donations of personal protective equipment from businesses and organizations across the state. There was a huge shortage of critical supplies which was hampering the response to the coronavirus pandemic and endangering the health and safety of those on the frontlines of this fight.
“I’m very glad we had these [goggles] available to donate and I am thankful and humbled to do our part. I am also very thankful for the medical workers that are endangering themselves to fight COVID-19 and happy we are able to contribute towards their safety with this little gift. We’re all in this together, and we will continue to do our part,” says Fred Erik Nilsen.
Joseph Brennan, the president and chief executive officer of CBIA says:
“This donation is in high demand and short supply and will certainly be put to good use. The donation will go a long way to protect the healthcare providers who are responding to the pandemic.”
Equinavia made the donation via United Way 211. The protective eyewear will be distributed by the CT Department of Public Health.
