03/01/2024

Hailey Guard's journey into the world of horses began at five in western New York. She embarked on a diverse equestrian path, exploring disciplines starting with hunter-jumpers and eventually venturing into Western pleasure and barrel racing before finding her passion with dressage.

After obtaining a degree in media art, Hailey followed her calling to become a dressage trainer, preceding the conventional career path. Her training odyssey led her from an internship in Wisconsin to Hinnemann Farms in Minnesota, where she continued to develop her riding and barn management skills.

Hailey’s passion and willingness to work took her across the country, training in California, Georgia, and South Carolina before moving to North Carolina. Along the way, she accumulated experiences and worked with several notable trainers and coaches who shaped her into the accomplished professional she is today.

Besides riding and competing, she also creates musical arrangements for dressage freestyles for herself and clients and operates a second full-time business outside of the horses. Hailey's resilience and determination propelled her forward, culminating in significant achievements like earning her USDF gold medal with her mare, Dalwhinney, with the help of her long-time coach, Christopher Hickey, and her friend and fellow trainer Caitlin Oikemus.

Central to Hailey's journey has been her support system, comprising fellow professionals and mentors who have provided guidance and inspiration. Equinavia has been a steadfast ally, offering quality equestrian products complimenting Hailey's commitment to excellence. As she continues her training business in North Carolina, Hailey's story encourages those who dare to defy conventions and pursue their equestrian dreams.
